Booking and Cancellation Policies

By choosing to participate in a reservation with Powder Renegade, all guests agree to be bound by our terms and conditions, including the Release of Liability (Waiver) Requirement set out below.

Booking Terms and Conditions Agreement

Please read these Booking Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) carefully. These T&Cs in their entirety constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Powder Renegade Lodge Inc., o/a Powder Renegade. By making a reservation with Powder Renegade (referred to as Powder Renegade, us, our, we or similar in these T&Cs), you are agreeing, on behalf of yourself and all other individuals that you book for, to be bound by these T&Cs. You further agree you are acting as an agent for such individuals, and these T&Cs apply to them.

Booking T&C’s Binding on Non-Booking Guests

By choosing to participate in a reservation with Powder Renegade, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs, including the Release of Liability (Waiver) Requirement set out below. All non-booking guests are required to complete our Guest Registration Form, which includes an agreement to these T&Cs, as a condition of participating in a reservation. A non-booking guest’s participation in a reservation is only confirmed once they have agreed to these T&Cs and signed the required Waiver. Individuals who do not complete both requirements will not be permitted to participate in the reservation. If you do not agree to be bound by these T&Cs, do not proceed with participating in the reservation.

Guest Registration Form

All guests are required to complete and submit our Guest Registration Form to secure their spot in the reservation. All guests must complete their own Guest Registration Form to ensure accurate information and agreement with these T&Cs. If the Guest Registration Form is not completed, the individual will not be permitted to participate.

Release of Liability (Waiver)

All participants must review and agree to Powder Renegade’s current* Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement (the “Waiver”) as a condition of participating in the trip. If the Waiver is not completed, the individual will not be permitted to participate. A sample of the Waiver can be reviewed here.

  • By signing the Waiver, you waive your legal rights to sue or claim compensation following an accident. READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY PRIOR TO MAKING A RESERVATION OR CHOOSING TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESERVATION!
  • The Waiver will apply for a period of 18 months from the date you sign it.
  • By booking or choosing to participate in a reservation and agreeing to the terms of the Release of Liability you recognize and agree that the allocation of risk set out in the Release of Liability, including the release of us from all legal liability, is reflected in the fees paid for the trip.
  • Each adult must complete their own Waiver.
  • A parent/legal guardian must complete the Waiver for a minor (under 19).
  • If you are booking for others, it is your responsibility to ensure you inform them of this Waiver requirement and the terms of the Waiver. Please refer to Booking T&Cs Binding on Non-Booking Guests section above.
  • This Waiver requirement applies to all participants, regardless of when they are added to the reservation.
  • *We reserve the right to update the Waiver. Guests will sign the current form of the Waiver at the time of signing.
  • If you are the individual making the reservation, you are required to complete the Waiver prior to us confirming the reservation. If you are a non-booking guest, you must be complete your Waiver electronically prior to us confirming your participation in the reservation.
  • If you do not agree with the terms of the Waiver applying to your trip, do not proceed with the booking, or don’t proceed with choosing to participate in the trip if you are a non-booking guest.

Payment Policy

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
  • Payment Policy 2025-26 Season: We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your seat, with the remaining 50% due on November 15. If you make a booking after November 15, you are required to pay 100% at the time of booking. We accept most major credit cards, EFT, wire payments and e-transfers.
  • Payment Policy for 2026-27 Season and beyond: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking with a second non-refundable deposit of 25% due on May 1 and 50% (final payment) due on October 1.
  • Payment timing for re-booking reservations is as set out under the Re-Booking section below.
  • If payments are not received according to the payment schedule, Powder Renegade reserves the right to cancel the booking without notice or refund of any amounts paid There are no exceptions to this policy.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation by You:
  • You must provide written notice of any reservation cancellation. A reservation cancelled by you for any reason, including without limitation issues crossing the border, delayed, missed or cancelled travel, weather or snow conditions, family or work obligations or emergencies, government regulations or restrictions, travel advisories, injuries or any personal or public health-related issues, strikes or labour disputes, Acts of God, states of emergency, or any other reason, is subject to our refund and cancelation policy below.
  • If we receive a written cancellation from you at least 120 days prior to your arrival, you will get a full refund minus your 50% non-refundable deposit per seat cancelled IF we are able to resell your spot(s) as per our Replacement Policy below. If we are unable to resell your spot(s), you will not receive any refund. Cancellations within 120 days of your trip date are 100% non-refundable unless our Replacement Policy below applies.

Replacement Policy:

  • Guests are not permitted to sell their seat directly to another guest. If a guest no longer wants their seat(s), they will have the option of finding an appropriate replacement(s) to fill the seat and receive a full refund minus a $200 administration fee deducted from each seat. An appropriate replacement guest is subject to the new guest’s skiing/boarding ability being appropriate to the trip and Powder Renegade reserves the right to refuse a replacement on this basis, in which case the guest may find another replacement. Once the replacement reservation has been completed, with the applicable payment received, the Booking T&Cs agreed to and a Waiver signed by the new guest, Powder Renegade will issue a refund of all amounts paid less a $200 administration fee. The original guest will lose their booking priority for future years. We have no obligation to find a replacement guest; however, if we do, the same terms will apply as if the guest found the replacement.

Cancellation by Powder Renegade:

  • If we cancel the trip for any reason beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation Acts of God, states of emergency, weather or snow conditions, change in permits or applicable laws or regulations, equipment failure, labour disputes, blockades, natural disasters, wildfires, pandemic or other public-health related issues, or government regulations or restrictions, you are not eligible for a refund. We highly recommend you purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance.
  • In addition to the right to cancel due to reasons beyond our control, Powder Renegade reserves the right to cancel your reservation upon written notice. In such a case, Powder Renegade will refund or credit to your account, as per your preference, the total payments received by Powder Renegade from you. This does not apply to days within the trip where skiing is not possible due to weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.
  • In the event of any cancellations or delays for any reason, Powder Renegade will not be responsible for any travel, interruption or additional costs or lost opportunities, including without limitation, cancellation fees, airfare, third-party accommodations, meals, rental charges, travel expenses, services charges, lost deposits or payments, or for any direct, indirect, consequential, liquidated, compensatory, or incidental damages or any other damages or amounts of any nature whatsoever.
  • Powder Renegade will not make exceptions for any reason and will not provide refunds or credits due to late arrivals or early departures. Powder Renegade is not responsible for costs incurred by guests for late arrivals, early departures or any other circumstances that result in delay or inability to make the holiday.

Refunds will be processed in Canadian Dollars. No adjustments will be made to the refund for differences in the exchange rate between time of payment and issuing of refund.

Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance

There are no exceptions to our policies, so we strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation and interruption insurance. Our recommended provider is Lifestyle Insurance; they are a member of HeliCat Canada and have experience providing insurance for cat skiing adventures.

Re-Booking Policy

  • During your ski trip, you will have the option to reserve the equivalent timeslot the following year. The option will expire 14 days after the end of your trip, at which point you will lose priority for the future requested slot(s). A 25% deposit will be required at the time of booking with 25% due on May 1 and 50% (final payment) due on October 1.
  • All re-bookings are subject to the T&Cs, including the Waiver requirement, applicable to the next season.
  • If payments are not received as following the payment schedule, Powder Renegade reserves the right to cancel the booking without notice and re-sell the space(s). Any previous deposits will be forfeited and not refunded. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Circumstances for Guest Dismissal from Premises

  • Harassment (including sexual, physical or any inappropriate conduct or comments) will not be tolerated. Guests, staff or third parties that violate this policy may be subject to the following consequences at Powder Renegade’s discretion, including being asked to leave our premises, being permanently or temporarily banned from premises, and/or being reported to the RCMP.
  • Under no circumstances will Powder Renegade be responsible for the guests, staff or third parties’ inconvenience or travel expenses or for providing a refund as the result of the application of this policy.

Equipment Rentals

Powder Renegade is not providing rental equipment for the 2025-26 season. If we make any equipment available for use by a guest, such use is subject to the terms of the Waiver signed by the guest.

Personal and Provided Gear

  • You will be supplied with Avalanche Safety Gear. You will wear a backpack that contains a beacon, collapsible shovel and probe. You will also be provided with a radio to communicate with guides and your group. You are required to always have this equipment on your person while snowcat skiing and snowboarding.
  • You are not permitted to use your own backpacks, avy packs, beacons, etc. It is mandatory for you to use the equipment provided by Powder Renegade. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • You must bring your own ski/snowboard boots and helmet. Helmets are mandatory to participate. All ski or snowboard gear you bring to use needs to be reliable, maintained and in excellent condition to operate safely in extreme conditions. You will require dedicated powder skis or snowboards.

Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Risk

  • Cat-skiing involves many risks, dangers, and hazards, including avalanches. All guests must be aware of and willing assume the risks, dangers and hazards associated with participating. For a list of risks, dangers and hazards, review the Waiver.
  • You acknowledge that participating in the trip involves significant risks, dangers and hazards. By participating, you agree you are aware of and fully and voluntarily assume these risks, dangers and hazards. You are responsible for maintaining the necessary physical fitness and skills required to participate in the trip. You will stay alert to risks, dangers and hazards, act prudently throughout the trip, and bring any concerns to our attention immediately.

Drugs and Alcohol

Participating in activities organized by Powder Renegade while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited. You acknowledge and agree that whenever participating in an activity organized by Powder Renegade, you and the members of your party will not be impaired by or use any substance, including, but not limited to, alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs and other controlled substances. We reserve the right to deny participation by anyone that appears to be in contravention of this policy. This includes cat or helicopter transfers.

Weather Disclaimer

Powder Renegade operates in an environment where weather conditions vary unpredictably. While we strive to provide the best possible experience, we cannot control or guarantee the weather or snow conditions. Powder Renegade is not responsible for any cancellations, disruptions or inconvenience caused by adverse weather or snow conditions, including without limitation closures, delays, or changes in skiing conditions.

Ski Operator Premises

  • The Powder Renegade premises is not limited to skiing and snowboarding activities. Please pay close attention to all signage and conditions of the premises. It is your responsibility to always be aware of signage and conditions at facilities.
  • Slipping and falling has potential for serious injuries and should not be overlooked as a risk. There are many wet, snowy, icy, and slippery surfaces throughout our facility. Slips, trips and falls are common, and all users should always take precautions. Ski boots and many types of other footwear do not provide good traction, and extra caution should be used when walking. Be particularly careful of slips and falls on snowy or icy surfaces if you have consumed alcohol.

Age Requirement and Skiing with Minors

  • Powder Renegade requires guests to be 19 years or older to travel and ski/board on their own.
  • Guests between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age may book but must be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian that will be skiing/boarding with them. Powder Renegade does not provide supervision to minors. It is the parent/legal guardian’s responsibility to provide supervision to the minor at all times.
  • The parent/legal guardian must sign the Waiver for the minor and must review the risks, dangers, and hazards set out in the Waiver with the minor.
  • All minors must be strong, competent intermediate to advanced level skiers with prior experience in powder and back country conditions preferred.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

The reservation and all disputes relating to or arising out of the reservation and these T&Cs and any injury, loss or damage suffered by a guest while participating in a reservation are governed by and will be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein without any reference to conflicts of law rules. By making a reservation or choosing to participate in a reservation, you irrevocably attorn and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the British Columbia courts and waive objection to the venue of any proceeding in such court or that such court provides an inappropriate forum.
