We require a 25% non-refundable initial deposit to reserve your seat. Reservations will not be held until payment is received. An additional 25% payment is due by May 1, and the remaining 50% of the balance is due on September 15th. Guests who make a booking after May 1 are required to pay a 50% deposit at the time of booking. Guests who make a booking after September 15th are required to pay a 100% payment at the time of booking.

If payments are not made according to the payment structure outlined above, Powder Ridge reserves the right to cancel your booking and offer to our waitlist or remarket the seat for sale. Any previous deposits will be forfeited and not refunded. Powder Ridge will send reminder emails prior to payment deadlines as a courtesy.

Note: Flywire is Powder Ridge’s payment gateway. All credit card statements will show FLYWIRE for payments made online or with credit cards.

Because we regularly experience severe weather conditions in the region that can cause flight delays, cancellations and challenging driving conditions, Powder Ridge strongly recommends that all guests plan to arrive the day prior to the start of their trip (Big White Ski Resort outside of Kelowna or Silver Star in Vernon are a fantastic place to go for a day to warm up your ski legs ahead of your trip!).

If you experience weather delays or cancelled flights that will result in your arrival in Kelowna after 8pm, we suggest you consider booking overnight accommodations and plan for an early transfer the following morning. Our guest relations team can provide information and assistance with this. We also strongly suggest staying overnight in Kelowna on your transfer out of Powder Ridge to prevent missed flights, etc.

Powder Ridge will not make exceptions for any reason and will not provide refunds or credits due to late arrivals or early departures. Powder Ridge is not responsible for costs incurred by guests for late arrivals, early departures or any other circumstances that result in delay or inability to make the holiday.

Re-Booking Policy

It is at the sole discretion of Powder Ridge to offer current guests the option to reserve the equivalent timeslot the following year. If Powder Ridge offers this option, the option will expire 7 days after the end of the trip, at which point the guest will lose priority for the future requested slot.

To exercise the option to reserve, Powder Ridge requires guests to pay a non-refundable 25% deposit upon rebooking. Powder Ridge will not reserve dates without payment of the 25% non-refundable deposit. Re-booking guests are subject to the payment schedule and terms as described above. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that occasionally events occur that prevent you from joining us on your catskiing vacation. Please pay special attention to these cancellation and refunds terms. To avoid any financial hardship that an unexpected cancellation and interruption could cause, we strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation/interruption insurance to protect your trip investment..

You are purchasing a non-refundable ski holiday. Please be sure to completely read and understand our cancellation policies as we do not make exceptions.

Cancellation by Guest

Your initial 25% is non-refundable. If we receive a cancellation 120 days prior to your arrival, you will get a full refund minus your 25% booking fee per seat cancelled if we are able to resell your spot. If we are unable to resell your spot, you will not receive any refund. Cancellations within 120 days of your trip date are 100% non-refundable. This includes trips cancelled due to any issues you encounter crossing the border. Please also note that most trip cancellation insurance policies do not cover this type of situation.

Guests wishing to cancel will have the option to transfer their seat to another person who is at least 19 years old, subject to Powder Ridge’s approval. We will accommodate this at no charge if the guests transfer funds among themselves. If we have to charge the new guest and refund the old guest, there will be a $250 administration fee deducted from each seat refunded.

After acting on the original seat holder’s instructions to transfer the seat and funds held by Powder Ridge to the new person’s name, the original seat holder releases all claims to the funds originally deposited with Powder Ridge and will have no claim to a refund whatsoever. The new person MUST sign the waiver prior to this transfer happening.

Guests who wish to obtain the option of a full refund must purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance. We strongly advise that guests purchase this insurance. Powder Ridge will provide guests who have a trip cancellation insurance policy with a cancellation letter to the insurer to assist in recouping any money lost. All cancellations must be received in writing.

Powder Ridge does not provide refunds or credits for any of the following: guest’s inability to ski, snowboard, or participate in any outdoor activity caused by weather conditions, including snow stability issues and poor or hazardous conditions; health-related issues; personal or family emergencies; illness or injuries; cancellations due to travel or border crossing issues; or any other events that are outside the reasonable control of Powder Ridge. Under no circumstances is Powder Ridge responsible for guests’ inconvenience or travel expenses.

Cancellation by Powder Ridge

The Monashee mountains are an excellent location for great winter weather suitable for powder skiing and well over 90% of the time, we have good or excellent powder snow conditions. However, it is possible that conditions during your ski trip will disappoint you.

Powder Ridge reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel catskiing for any reason whatsoever. Refunds or credits will not be issued for discretionary cancellations.

Please accept the fact that we have no control over the weather and will not give refunds due to poor conditions. Unlike day operations, our policy is to ski every day and make a big effort to have fun – even if the conditions are not terrific. Guests must accept that “you win some and you lose some” when it comes to weather. If you are unlucky and encounter poor conditions while you are on your ski holiday, please try very hard to stay positive and contribute to the good vibes environment at the lodge.

Trip cancellation and interruption insurance is the ONLY option to obtain a refund.

Circumstances for Guest Dismissal from Premises

Harassment (including sexual, physical or any inappropriate conduct or comments) will not be tolerated. Guests, staff or third parties that violate this policy at the discretion of Powder Ridge management may be subject to actions, including being asked to leave our premises, being permanently or temporarily banned from premises, and/or being reported to the RCMP.

Under no circumstances will Powder Ridge be responsible for the guests, staff or third parties’ inconvenience or travel expenses or for providing a refund as the result of the application of this policy.

Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance

We highly recommend you review your insurance coverage and needs prior to your trip as no refunds or credits will be issued.

We highly recommend you check your personal policies and coverage. Our recommended provider is Lifestyle Insurance; they are a member of HeliCat Canada  and have experience providing insurance for catskiing adventures. They can provide you with the exact coverage you need.

A trip cancellation and interruption insurance policy insures against unexpected cancellations prior to your departure and disruptions during your trip that may cause you unexpected travel expenses or the loss of all or a portion of your catski trip (i.e. illness, injury, death of a family member, delayed flights, missed shuttles, cancellation by tour operator, etc.).

Please spend a few moments to review and purchase travel cancellation insurance. If you are concerned you may have to cancel for any reason – this is your only option to obtain a refund.

Note: This product is recommended solely for the benefit of our guests. Powder Ridge does not receive any remuneration from the purchase of Travel Insurance.

Rental Equipment

Guests can rent powder skis or powder snowboards from the selection at our lodge. There is a limited amount, so please request rental equipment during your booking. The cost to rent skis or boards is $50/day.

Any ski or safety equipment belonging to Powder Ridge that is lost or damaged (outside of manufacture defect) whilst assigned to a guest will be charged to that guest to cover the cost of replacement at the following rates: skis/snowboard $800, radio $550, airbag pack  $400, transceiver $300, probe $50, shovel $50, poles $50.
